Description

This is Jacoby 1, a planetary nebula in Bootes. It is supposedly and arguably one of the faintest planetary nebula in the northern sky, which I did not know until I attempted to process it! I was looking for a narrowband target to capture after the winter constellations set for the night. It seemed big enough from an apparent size to go after given my wide field setup, but boy is it faint. It’s primarily comprised of Oiii, which I could capture with my dual-band filter, but really it would be best to get with an Oiii-only filter, larger aperture, and more time. Nonetheless, here it is.
